Back in the early 90's (the earliest date stamp I can find is '93) Chaz Elliott (of Games Workshop' fame) sculpted a number of small scale miniatures for the Discworld series. I've never found a full listing and the numbering used I have no idea how I came by it! I'm assuming I found it in various gaming magazines - if you know please comment below! I started populating the Lost Minis WIKI with (poor) images back in 2010. I was using a digital camera but even though it had a macro function I really didn't know how to use it. Fortunately modern hones have pretty much saved the days for us hobbyists. The figures were originally produced in standard pewter however then as polished pieces for the giftware market. The first I picked up I vaguely remember as being sold loose (from one of the lovely little shops in the old Corn Exchange in Manchester, much missed following that IRA bomb). Later they came bagged and then I believe in small blisters.
Well, now I've caught your attention......this is a blog about gaming miniatures, both old and new school but with a leaning towards old school. I've been in the hobby since the 70s and seem to show no sign of stopping in the foreseeable future.....

There are four different base styles that I can find - possibly the stamped version coincided with the polished giftware marketing. 1993 and 1998 are the only dates noted.
So we need a full listing please! There are a lot of gaps although that's not unusual where releases are planned but not released. Anything not on a blue background is a figure I need - won't anybody think of this poor old addict???
A friend sent me an image of some catalogue / flyers, incomplete but very enticing. Looks like they were number with the DMP prefix at some point.
Micro Art Studio do a wonderful range of licensed miniatures these days - check them out over at;
Don't forget to mention I sent you... not that it ever gets me anything!
I'm aways open to trading for miniatures - I run The Little Soldier Company so can trade Noggins for lead if you so desire... give me a shout on enquiries@deartonyblair.co.uk.

Some are pretty decent even by today's standards. I bought some from Microart Studio, they did a great job on the design. I still have a few pending purchases on my list, but maybe next year.
The earlier ones were by Chaz, then a couple of other in house sculptors took over. Kev White did a running Rincewind that wasn't officially released. Hope to update the blog soon.
