Greenwood & Ball catalogue 1978

 I posted the catalogue as pics a couple of years back (here) but just found it again and thought I'd scan as a PDF as they seem preferable. Great trip down memory lane as always. I've put it as 1978 but not 100% certain of the exact year. Certainly close though!

PDF file is on my Google share drive below, it will open in a new window and should allow you to view / download it etc.

There's a 1975 catalogue (JPGs, not PDF though) here.

The Courier magazine 1975 - Der Kriegspielers and Heritage ads

Volume 7 no. 4. Lovely set of articles (original scan courtesy of Mikal) from before they joined forces. I was 13 at the time and just beginning my journey into poverty.

A bit regret of mine is seeing the Duke at Salute a few years back but I was suffering one of my frequent anxiety bouts so didn't approach him.

I remember well the adverts in Military Modelling showing these wonderful looking Fantastiques pieces imported / produced by Hinchliffe Models before Games Workshop took over the world... Many are available again from https://classicminiatures.net/

There are a number of images of this old(e) range on the WIKI here. I've yet to pick any up but live in hope (in truth I would love to live in Hope which is a lovely village in Derbyshire in the UK; 'The pretty village of Hope is situated where the River Noe and Peakshole Water meet, and has a range of hills to the north including Win Hill and Losehill. Hope village was mentioned in the Doomsday book as having both a priest and a church and the present church, dedicated to St Peter dates from around the 13th century and is famous for it's gargoyles, a Norman font and there is the stump of a Saxon Cross in the churchyard.).

Lots more Der Kriegspielers / Heritage posts here and here.

Table Top Talk - September 1963 plus some Asgard Miniatures Orcs

Well, had the time to scan another issues and Mikal has done the honours with cropping etc.

On my Google share drive here;

Interesting letter from Allan Watson of Australia regarding the banning of lead!

That's 5 issues so far, plenty more to come!

Finished three old Asgard Orcs - these were some of Jes Goodwin's earliest sculpts back in the 80's.

Left to right; OR35 Slave Orc Archer OR33 Slave Orc with Scimitar OR8 Orc Scout

More pics of the range on Lost Minis here. They are still available (and very reasonably priced)  after all this time from Viking Forge in the USA here. Let them know I sent you!

Table Top Talk July 1963

Another glimpse into the past... thanks to Mikal (again!) for the PDF editing... there is also a May 1966 issue (not my scan) on the shared drive (link below) that I will rescan at some point. I've got another 20 issues to go but a printer/scanner that is glitching continually... my hairline can't take the stress!

Citadel Fantasy Tribe Evil Leaders and more...

The Fantasy Tribe Evil Leaders range was released late 1982, then it was changed to C22 before being amalgamated into ranges by race type. They were designed to expand upon earlier range releases. I think I've got the right figures... plus a couple of others I seem to recall being released at the same time... if you have any thoughts or other pics please let me know on enquiries@deartonyblair.co.uk

Chaos Commander

Hobgoblin Commander

Skeleton Champion

Zombie Lord, one of the few I've painted...

Night Elf lord

Orc Warlord

Night Goblin Warlord

Night Goblin Chieftain

?

Red Goblin Chieftain

Lesser Goblin Chieftains

Orc Champion

Ogron Foulbreath - pretty certain this was for the range...

Couple of clips from White Dwarf;

This Goblin standard bearer was obviously to expand on the early SS4 boxed set, Goblin Raiding Party.

A Military Modelling ad for the Fantasy Tribe Zombie range... still unequalled IMHO.

Thought I'd add this lady as I finally painted it after all these year... Citadel Female Fighter, one of 6 versions...

I got the top left one from the pic below to replace one I'd got with a missing axe (the one to her right)... my new axe looks the part but obviously wasn't the original!
