Bring Out Your Lead 2018 ..... Oldhammer BOYL at Foundry, day 2...

Well, what can you say to a day like today. Almost perfect weather and a chance to talk lead throughout it all.......throw in beer and, well.....purty fine indeed. Mark (Stevenson) went and picked up John Blanche who was here for the first time. Wonderful talking to yet another legend of the hobby. I espied Kev White, Tim Prow and a few others immersed in conversation but didn't get the chance to chat. Alan Merrett was there and had a great chinwag. Hoping Rick Priestley will be there on Sunday.

Early pic of the Oldhammer game based on the Second Citadel Compendium being set up...

Do bear in mind that Steve (Beale) constructed this out of Hirst Art's moulds using a small single mould.....greater love hath no man for his hobby.....Harry Howells helping out here.....

The figures before unpacking.....

Curtis of Ramshackle Games setup ..... always a joy to watch. Top bloke.

Laserburn 15mm makes a return to the tabletop.....

Kev Adams' painted Slann from back in the day.....apparently these got him noticed and drawn into Citadel / GW...the rest is history.....

The BOYL freebie...a 40K miniature based on an illustration from the first edition of the game....

A mystery mini of Bryan's....couldn't id it yesterday and spent a while today looking at it. Chatting to Steve Casey it clicked as a Dragontooth style sculpt then I realised it was a Steve Tofano style sculpt.....I then looked at the base markings (pic below) and could finally make out Tofano......so now I just need to work out which Tofano Studios piece as the Lost Minis WIKI is lacking on this range....

My own Tenoch palanquin in action....

And Tenoch beast riders.....

My mate Tony Yates on the left and Wayne Bollands of Wargames Illustrated magazine. Great long chat to Wayne about, among other things, producing a rule set for the Politicos.......

Drew Williams, Don and Mark in deep conversation....

The upcoming John Pickford (very) large demon....Maria tells me the master molds is done, they're just waiting for the box artwork......my mate Carsten is straining at the leash for this....

Myself, Bryan and Tony.........so many stories, so little time........

I wondered why they had the old Citadel/GW Mighty Fortress on the till area and sprayed metallic as well.....until someone pointed out these were the steel molds forms for the polystyrene model......woah! Diane showed me some pics where a rather large hornet had been attracted to it and had spent quite a while pushing miniatures off the parapets!

The painting competition entries....I'll try and find out who won tomorrow!

Organiser extreme Garth doing his presentation skills a workout....another top bloke without whom this event would have been sorely pressed.....

Maria resting after taking the end of the day pics.........

'Smile!' Side shot of the group pic.

More tomorrow.....left here and had a great curry in Newark...the others were tired so we came back to the hotel, drank a few beers.....then talked extensively about the history of Asgard miniatures.....I have now found a potential source for some pics of old Dragontooth pieces......watch this space...so much lead, so little time..........

Once again a massive thanks to the Ansell family for hosting this event. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Day 2 here.

Day 3 here.

Does anyone have one of these they would be willing to part with ? My first ever mini.

He's the Asgard Giant Orc in armour. Sadly not currently in production. Quite rare to find - but fingers crossed for you! (afraid I only have one, which I purchased in the 70's, and that's currently on loan.

Hadn't realised you were the brains behind the Tenoch - is it possible to get hold of them still? I'm definitely not finished with Lustria yet and that shrine needs more than one outing after all the blood, sweat and tears that went in to it!
