Before Judge Dredd there was no law.......only WIPS.....

A couple of oldish Tony Yates sculpts I picked up a few years back on a bring & buy. Thought they seemed very Judge Dredd like so I painted them that way......a lot of WIPs and bits below them....

Beautiful little lady...had to replace the sword with a steel pin as I dropped her...doh!

Update on the above minis. They are part of a range that was never released. More once I get to the bottom of it!

Came across this little gem when tidying.....an old 6mm Games Workshop Battlecars buggy.

Wonderfully large and chunky Nevile Stocken sculpt for his Archive Miniatures Runequest line; 816 Inhuman King. I never seem to finish anything but maybe one day......

Cracking old Citadel Perry sculpts from the very early 80s that were converted for test playing Rogue Trader...the forerunner of Warhammer 40K, that little known gothic SF game.....Wargames Foundry found the moulds for these and had them as a giveaway at a recent open day.

A comparison with the original Citadel FF 65 Ferocious Man Fish. Get in contact with Marcus at Wargames Foundry as he may be able slip one or two in your order if you ask nicely. Top bloke.

A Black Tree Design Russian maxim gun team and 3 Plastic Soldier infantry.....now all based and undercoated....to go with the earlier posted maxim team once I get around to it....

A piece I picked up at Salute earlier this year....a vignette of the 'infamous' conference at Yalta

A friend sent me a selection of wonderful plastic Japanese sculpts by Takeya Takayuki.....not sure whether to thank him or curse him as they are so nice I may have to collect them all........

Snake demon tormenting a soul.........

the soul in torment....

Multi part plastic that slots together easily

Need to identify these Doctor Who Sontaron types......f you could all put your thinking caps on and email me at enquiries@deartonyblair.co.uk it would help! The base marking state 'BAKERLOO' so a Google search tends to bring up a zillion hits on London's Bakerloo underground line....doh!

Update - Niklas from Sweden has identified these from  the April 1987 issue of Miniature Wargames. They are listed on a 'Stratagem' Advertisement as 'SF Figures' ,Space Marines SF (I think) 1 - 4. Thanks Niklas!

Also these 2....could be early Tony Yates but not sure.....

Update - the guy on the left is by Tony and is a Heroes Miniatures' GH39 Masked Henchman with Rifle.

and finally for now a small selection of Kinder Egg dwarves...the full set can be seen over at Stunties.

  1. Hi David,

Just joined your blog. Much though I would love to take credit for the Inhuman King, I cannot. That figure was done by the immensely talented Steve Lortz. What I particularly like about the fig is the feeling that the Lizard King is old, which is why his walk is not so vibrant - he is showing the years that are also betrayed by the turkey-neck wattles around his throat. This fig has always been one of my favourites of the minis that Steve did.

    Regards,
    Nevile Stocken.
